Soccer teams endure tough week
TWENTYNINE PALMS — The Twentynine Palms High School boys’ varsity soccer team managed a 1-1 tie against Yucca Valley High School on Thursday, Feb. 28 but followed that up with a 0-9 loss to Desert Hot Springs on Tuesday, Feb. 2.
The tie and the loss left the Wildcats with an overall record of 0-11-1.
Lady Wildcats
The Wildcat varsity girls’ soccer team had similar trouble last week, losing 1-5 to Yucca Valley on Thursday and following that up with a 0-10 loss to Desert Hot Springs on Tuesday.
The losses left the Lady Wildcats with an overall record of 1-9-3
Against Yucca Valley, the lone Wildcat point was scored by Elissa Bohanan, who led her teammates with six shots on goal.
Working as goaltender, Wildcat Sam Siple recorded 14 saves over the course of the game.
Working 50 minutes of the game against Desert Hot springs, Siple recorded seven saves while allowing eight goals.
Wildcat goaltender Brittny Wellock, working 30 minutes of the game, recorded a single save while allowing two goals.
